Guidelines for Resolving Two-Factor Authentication Code Errors

Google Authenticator (GA) codes not being accepted You may:

Review the GA Code Error Troubleshooting Guide and follow each step to resolve the issue.
Temporarily switch to another 2FA method (passkey / SMS / email) to complete verification.
If still cannot generate a correct code, proceed with the GA reset process.

SMS / Email verification codes not being accepted When “Invalid Verification Code” appears:

Click Get Code to request a new one (avoid repeated requests in a short period to prevent risk-control lockouts).
Use different device/platform to obtain the code: Access the web version via a computer or mobile browser instead of the app
Switch networks: change between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
Temporarily use a passkey or Google Authenticator to complete 2FA.

Not Receiving Verification Codes

Make sure you have clicked Get Code.
Check your spam/junk folder and add the ETZ sender address to your whitelist.
Wait about 10 minutes and try again (delays may occur during peak periods).
Use a passkey or Google Authenticator instead.
Reset the phone number or email address linked to your verification method.

Registered with Apple ID “Hide My Email”? Your verification codes may be forwarded to the relay address generated by Apple:

Open Settings → Your Apple ID → Sign-In & Security to check which email address is currently receiving the verification codes.

If need to change the email address: go to ETZ Account Security, unlink your Apple ID, and then add a new email address.

Other Common Error Messages “We are unable to process your request. Please try again later.”

“Verification code failed to send. Please click Get Code again.”

Request the code from another device or platform (use a computer or mobile browser instead of the App).
Switch networks and try again (Wi-Fi ↔ mobile data).
